For the ladies' jewelry, the quality of accessory is a very important element. Making an effort to do a so called DIY (Do-It-Yourself) tassel earrings can help you save a penny or two! (And you can even style it the way you want). Tassel earrings are considered as an easy and quick DIY and it could be perfectly paired with boho or gypsy look.

Materials Needed

  • Embroidery Thread

  • A piece of cardboard (or anything that can be used as a holder of the thread like a card, etc.)

  • Earring Hooks

  • Jump rings

  • Scissors

Step 1

Cut a piece of cardboard twice the length you want your tassel to be and fold it in half. And pick a color of your choice from the different colors of the thread and start wrapping your thread around the cardboard piece. The times you wrap the thread around will determine the thickness of your tassel.

Step 2

Once you've reach the thickness of the wrapping thread you want to achieve, turn a piece of cardboard over and cut the thread in between where one end of the cardboard meets the other.

Step 3

Grab your tassel safely by the end and begin wrapping using one of the loose pieces of thread. Once you've securely wrapped the end of your tassel, you can glue the end of the thread in place using super glue or craft glue. If the piece of thread is longer, you can also secure it by threading it through the wrapping and knotting off the end.

Step 4

To assemble a tassel earring, you'll be needing a jump ring and an earring hook.  Begin  it by sliding the jump ring through a few strands of thread at the top of your tassel loop.  Then attach one end of the chain by sliding it onto your jump ring.  Attach the other end of your chain to the jump ring and you're done!

Once you're finally done, you'll find it fun and addicting! Learning and trying something new is a great way to spend your leisure time (and it could be your new hobby as well)!
